After studying the notes on the 'Add100' cell structure a Pastor friend came up with these 10 good questions and my response. 1. What happens if a cell multiplies and the leader can't or won't advance to supervisor? For this cell structure to succeed in a church no one must feel under undue pressure - otherwise what was meant to be a blessing can easily become a curse. They could easily become discouraged and resign or leave the church - even cause a split, because our system created disgruntled hearts. The structure has to be adaptable to people's giftings - which means you're must be creative and be prepared to do a lot of juggling. I recently heard of a very successful Pastor who let all is leaders know you're welcome to resign, step down, take a sabbatical, so long as you replace yourself and don't leave a hole in the structure we're building, filling our ship with water. This way they don't feel that the only way to get out of a ministry I need a break from is to find fault and leave the church. The members were happy to train up a replacement and stay in the church without feeling guilty for letting the Pastor down. Back to your question, if someone is comfortable at a level, feels he's in his perfect gifting, and does not want to advance, that's fine! He becomes a 'cell factory'. He keeps raising up one new intern and releasing the half of the cell that the new intern has built a quality relationship with to go off with and start a new cell. As you're lacking a supervisor, you find a trainer from the Fishers of Men ministry to fill those 2 cells with souls. It would be best if this trainer came from one of these cells, because of already established relationships, or else appoint one over these two cells who already has good Biblical People Skills to win their hearts, gain their cooperation and smoothly slot into his new position. 2. What happens if cell is ready to multiply but you don't have two interns? Prevention is the cure to this problem. From inception a new cell leader must be trained to think and plan ahead, using his initiative and influence with good Biblical People Skills to discover and motivate potential leaders who display the quality of faithfulness and a stable home life. The cell leader must point out the big picture of members needing to discover and fulfill God's plan for their lives - and that we'll help and train them to accomplish this. Remember every Fishers of Men's graduates life goes through a drastic transformation - especially those who become Fishers of Men trainers - they will never be the same. Even the quiet mousey one's will surprise you and themselves. Fishers of Men is the stewing pot for new potential leaders. This is one of the reasons cells without Fishers of Men always struggle - they never have enough leaders and they become bless me clubs instead of discipleship havens for new converts. Growing cells without interns are unhealthy, because they end up becoming a mini church. The people in the cell must urgently and fervently pray the Lord of the harvest to speak to the hearts of the potential new leaders (they're there) to be raised up, come forth and be thrust out of their comfort zone and avail themselves for training. As we're weekly praying for new leaders, ask the folks to listen if God is not talking to them to become leaders. Another option is to import an intern from another cell that may been doing the above more diligently, and have an extra leader that could come in and do some serious relationship building with good Biblical People Skills in preparation for the cell to multiply. 3. What happens to the supervisor if one cell multiplies but the other one doesn't? This is called a lob-sided multiplication. Here the supervisor becomes a senior supervisor as one cell has multiplied, but the other hasn't. He now also takes the role of an elder, but not the title yet. He also remains on as a supervisor over his cell that has not yet multiplied. He puts in a lot of extra time with his weak cell and its leaders to help it multiply as soon as possible. This problem is prevented if he sees he has a weak and a strong cell. Well in advance of his strong cell multiplying, he puts in the extra time with the leaders of his weak cell. The weak cell is saturated in prayer and evangelism, especially the leaders - this is what causes their spiritual growth - the equipping of saints for the WORK of ministry. Hands on prayer and Fishers of Men is always a major cause of spiritual growth in budding leaders. They'll grow right before your eyes. That's why I stressed cells apart from Prayer Revival for the Harvest and Fishers of Men evangelism mostly is a stagnating structure filled with problems. For cells to be successful, the separate ministries have to be launched in the right order - Prayer Revival for the Harvest, Fishers of Men evangelism and then 'Add100' cell structure. The sooner they're launched after each other the better. The Pastor must also visit weak cells to identify problems - family problems, marriage challenges, work challenges, financial challenges, purity of heart, etc. - what is hindering hunger for God, the desire for spiritual growth? These challenges have to be prayed and counselled through. Bro. Cho sends problematic leaders and members who're struggling to get the victory to Prayer Mountain to fast and pray through, get to grips with God, till they get their answer and victory. The modern church sadly tries to circumvent God's biblical way to victory - counselling replacing prayer and fasting. If the church (and cell) is going to be built, Jesus is going to build His church, when we do the basics he taught us by example in Gethsemane right - but the disciples were sleeping. This is the #1 challenge in the church in America today - it's Prayer Revival for the Harvest. 4. How many cells can a supervisor supervise? 2 Cells is the norm, but a strong supervisor with a motivation for soulwinning can take on 3 or 4 cells - no more. Even here he obviously needs the assistance of other Fishers of Men trainers to help train all the interns that need training, that's why a supervisor over 2 cells is best - to ensure quality of training of his interns. A good supervisor can fill more than 2 cells with souls, but will the interns be properly trained - not without the help of other Fishers of Men trainers. It is correct for other Fishers of Men trainers to help train interns. They need to see the gospel being presented by several different people, because their supervisor might not be the strongest Fishers of Men trainer. The strength of this whole structure is also the 1/2 relationship - 1 training 2. The moment you change that to a 1/4 ratio there has to be a break down in input trainees are receiving - this must be avoided. Supervisors are already training 4 and can do that because a trainer takes 2 interns out with him each night on a Fishers of Men call. So over a 12 week Fishers of Men course, each intern would have been with his supervisor 6 times. However, for a supervisor to train 8 interns is a very heavy load. That is why it would take an exceptional leader to supervise more than 2 cells. You'll know if you have such a leader. I'd rather use Prayer Revival for the Harvest & Fishers of Men evangelism to raise up new leaders and keep the ratio's right. 5. Is a supervisor always an active FOM trainer? Yes, this is the norm. A leader must lead by example. A supervisor who is not actively involved in Fishers of Men is training his interns not to be actively involved in Fishers of Men. A leader buys the vision and is constantly motivating others in the vision. It's dangerous to have leaders kicking against the vision. People are scared of ministry, especially Fishers of Men, till they do it. This vital ministry knocks the fear out of people and fills them with faith and confidence, which makes them excellent in whatever future ministry they do for God. A definite visible transformation takes place in people lives because of Fishers of Men. Missing Fishers of Men is like missing your basic training in the military and still thinking you're a good prepared soldier. Every Christian must have a solid prayer life, but not everyone is an intercessor. Every Christian must be a soulwinner, but not everyone is an evangelist. Every Christian must learn to be loving and caring of other newer converts, but not everyone is a shepherd. It's all part of your vital training to prepare you one day to be well rounded and excellent in whatever you do for God, so you know and understand the ministry of others, enabling you you to adequately fill in the gap for someone else at the drop of a hat. Having said all that, we have allowed exceptions in extraordinary circumstances, to allow a good leader to go forward. This leader has completed his Fishers of Men training as a trainer, and is a good qualified Fishers of Men trainer getting results outside of the regular Fishers of Men program. 6. How is the "Journey guide" implemented? The Journey Guide is what the cell leader does with new cell members. It shows the vision track of where God can take them and how God can use them. Done properly by a good cell leader it can be used to discover and recruit good new converts as future interns. It appeals to the nobler motive - make your life count for God, discover the higher purpose for which you have been born and let us train and develop you in it. Through the 'Add100' cell structure we have discovered, developed and prepared more people for ministry than with every other structure we used before. It has made our church a world outreach church touching many nations and continents. All these churches are successful and starting successful churches themselves - it's multiplying. Without a vision people perish. The Journey Guide births vision in new converts. However, the cell structure can function without it. Leaders can select and motivate potential leaders other ways, but the danger is that we might select David's older brothers and overlook David. The 'Add100' cell structure discovers every good cork which comes floating to the top - often the very people we would have overlooked and who really surprise us. 7. Who trains the Interns? The intern is trained in the classroom by someone in the 5-fold ministry who has a teaching anointing. However his most important on-the-job training is 2-fold... A. By his cell leader who takes an intern with him on all ministry calls. He coaches his intern why he said and did what he did. Later he gives the intern ministry opportunity under his supervision (in & out the cell meeting) with coaching again. B. By his supervisor who specifically trains him in the art of soulwinning over 12 weeks in the Fishers of Men ministry. NB. A very important cardinal rule of ministry from the Pastor down to everyone in the training structure is... YOU MAY NEVER DO MINISTRY ALONE AGAIN!!! Every ministry experience must be turned into a training opportunity - otherwise how will your upcoming leaders ever learn and grow. The church has failed in that the training has mostly been teaching. Jesus trained his disciples by teaching and on-the-job training. Luke 6:40 (NAU) "A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been FULLY TRAINED (not fully taught), will (& can only then) be LIKE HIS TEACHER". You need to read the attached file to learn how to launch the 'Add100' cell structure from scratch and how to train new leaders from scratch. 8. Is the Intern a FOM trainee while an Intern? He doesn't have to one initially, but will end up being one in time before he can graduate to become a cell leader. Once again this is a vital part of his training that'll make him a successful cell leader and future supervisor. 9. What's an "Observer"? This is a very important and successful way of recruiting dormant cell members to become interns & Fishers of Men trainees. An observer is someone who has potential, who we'd like to recruit, but doesn't feel ready, committed, or is too busy. If we can get him to come with on our Fishers of Men calls as an observer who doesn't have to say a word, just come an observe what we're doing, then the Lord will speak to his heart and challenge him to re-prioritize his life and join in this noble ministry down the road. An observer is like a new ministry in an incubator being nurtured to life. It is a fear overcomer, a vision builder - it's awesome! 10. What's a Bible marker? It is an effective tool used in the cell for members to pray their friends, family & associates into the kingdom. It has a photo of our senior Pastors on the front with some scriptures on prayer. On the back it says, "If no one tells my friends about Jesus, who will?" Then it has 10 blank lines to fill in the names of unsaved God lays on their hearts to pray for and the date they get saved. As some are prayed into the kingdom, more are added to your list. Everyone takes their Bible marker out of their Bible during the works time of the home cell and prays for their salvation in the spirit for about 5 minutes. They are encouraged to do this everyday during their prayer time. Unless the church specifically has a system of members praying for the lost, the majority don't do it. We have many cell members who have up to 4 filled in and framed Bible markers as trophies of how many they've prayed into God's kingdom - it works - prayer is the first essential key to successful soulwinning.
